Friends

Mike and I had a wonderful weekend!! Friday we were able to hang out with some close friends (shout out to blogger Ashley :) ) ! It has been a while since we have been able to hang out together, so it was refreshing ! It is sweet how the Lord meets your needs as well as other Christians seeking for the same thing.

When Mike and I decided to stay in San Antonio as a married couple, I am not going to lie, I was a little bummed. However, it was just the place we needed to be and no other place was sincerely calling our name. I was a little worried about a few things. First was finding a solid church that BOTH Mike and I were happy at. That journey I would say was a roller coaster. Maybe one of these days I will spill about the highs and lows of the wonderful adventure of church searching. Mike and I stayed at one church where we knew a few people there and his cousins, aunt and uncle attended. After a while Mike and I knew it wasn't right for us. We then decided to try a new church we both have never been to and knew a friend who was a member. This church was an answer to our prayers. I mean don't get me wrong, this was no heaven on earth, but definitely what Mike and I needed as a couple. As we began to love Crossbridge we met some pretty cool people and would say now some very dear friends of ours that we hope to have long life friendships with :) ! Back to what I was saying earlier about a couple of worries staying in San Antonio... These friends that have  become great friends were another huge answer to prayer. What made it so cool was that they had the same concern moving back to San Antonio. It is hard to find a couple that both you and your husband get along with.. and all I have to say is wow.. we already found them !! wohoo! haha..

Finding another married couple to hang out with feels like dating all over again. You ask those questions like, what's you favorite this and what's your favorite that. The dating never ends!! I guess the good thing about that is there are no breakups? Or at least I have never had to deal with that.

So even though there were a few fears of staying in San Antonio, we met knew friends, have a new church, and are looking forward to where Christ is leading us in our relationship. This past weekend we celebrated a friend's birthday who was in our wedding. Unfortunately that did not go as planned. We planned to go to see Luminaria downtown. That was uneventful. We were downtown for about 30 minutes before we even found a place to park that was not blocked off! By the time Luminaria was "supposed" to start .. we were starting to wonder why nothing had happened. Later to find out they were going to wait another hour to do it. We bailed.... Way to tired to stay another hour . I guess we just get that old.. We can't stay up till 1 int he morning anymore. Sad day. Well.... at least we got a picture out of it ! :)
